Capuchino

Capuchino is traditionally made with dark roasted beans, which give a rich and bold flavor. However, some people prefer lighter roasts, which preserve more of the beans’ natural acidity and sweetness.

Pour Over Coffee

Pour over coffee tends to highlight the subtle nuances and complexities of the beans, so you might want to opt for a light or medium roast that preserves more of the original flavours and aromas of the coffee.

Espresso Crema

Espresso roasts are usually darker and more oily than other roasts, which gives them a rich and intense flavour. Espresso roasts also have less acidity and more sweetness, which balances well with the bitterness of espresso.

How coffee started

The Origin of Coffee

Kaldi, a goat-herder from Ethiopia noticed that his goats became very energetic after eating some red berries from a bush. Curious about this, Kaldi tried some himself and felt a surge of vitality. He took the berries to a nearby monastery, where the monks brewed them into a drink that helped them stay awake during their prayers. This was how coffee was discovered and spread across the world.

You can’t go wrong with the Kenya Blue Mountain beans. They are my favourite.

My favourite  is currently the Yirgacheffe beans from Ethiopia. An easy drink when I’m going through a lot of coffee.

My everyday favourite is the Northumbria Blend, I use it with the espresso machine at the office. At home I am more for the single origins, whatever takes my fancy at the time using  cafetiere.

I like most coffees but not too strong. I usually go for the American coffee Ive got quite a taste for the Daterra Sunrise at the moment, but the Colombian Medelin is running a close second.
